Maloney Vision Technology

With Maloney Vision Institute’s lasik, a thin layer of tissue is folded back from the surface of the cornea. After the Lasik surgery reshapes the eye’s cornea, the tissue is folded back into place, where it bonds quickly.

Using Dr. Maloney’s WaveScan® based digital technology, previously intended for use in high-powered telescopes to lessen distortions when viewing distant objects in space, we can now identify, measure and correct imperfections in an individual’s eye sight 25 times more precisely than with standard methods used for glasses and contact lenses. With Dr. Maloney’s CustomVue™ or Dr. Maloney’s Wavefront Guided laser vision correction, a modern standard is established, providing a precise level of achievement and vision correction never before accomplishable.

This info rmation is transferred to the laser, providing a new level of precision and accuracy by Maloney Vision Institute. CustomVue™ allows us to measure these visual imperfections at 200 individual points. Dr. Robert K. Maloney and staff can treat each of the 200 points individually to create a personalized vision correction that is ideal for you.

If you have good distance vision and are tired of your reading glasses, Conductive Keratoplasty, or CK, may be perfect for you. Dr. Robert Maloney utilizes localized radio-frequency energy to gently reshape the cornea. This simple, non-laser procedure, requires no tissue removal. Dr. Maloney’s procedure can potentially provide vision better than you have ever experienced with glasses or contact lenses. The Maloney Institute’s Conductive Keratoplasty can significantly improve eyesight in patients who are good candidates for this procedure.

Dr. Robert K. Maloney’s patients with extreme nearsightedness or farsightedness may not be suitable candidates for LASIK, but may benefit from a Verisyse lens, which is a special contact lens that is implanted behind the cornea.

With Dr. Robert Maloney, we use an advanced, VISX S4 eye-tracking lasik laser-flying spot laser that produces an especially smooth procedure. This 3-minute lasik process requires no needles and no stitches. Maloney Lasik can be used to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. Healing for most patients is so quick that eye sight can improve within hours of the lasik process, and many patients return to work the next day.

“As a surgical ophthalmologist, I depend on essentially flawless visual acuity to perform microscopic eye surgery. The LASIK procedure Dr. Maloney performed on me has made a phenomenal difference in my life. I actually feel younger, more athletic and even more energetic.”
